Events Honoring Woody
Robert Woodward, "Woody," was a beloved friend of many.
Numerous events have been and will be held to honor Woody,
and his life and work,
particularly in the states of Conecticut, Massachusetts, and Vermont,
the three states Woody spent the most time in spreading his energy
between family, friends, and others.
On Saturday, December 8th, at 1 PM,
a memorial service was held
at the Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, 294 Washington Street
in Norwich. Approximately 200 people attended this service.
At the service Woody's close friend Zak made the following
statement.
On Thursday, December 13th, at 2PM,
a memorial service was held
at the United Methodist Church in Springfield, VT.
On Saturday, December 15th
The Jamaica Community Education Project Benefit for Woody
was held.
On Sunday, December 16th, from 11AM to 3PM a ceremony was held at,
the Mt. Pollux conservation area in South Amherst to dedicate a memorial
to Woody.
On Wednesday, December 19th, from 6 to 7 PM,
a celebration and service took place at
St. Michael's Episcopal Church
at 10 Bradley Ave., Brattleboro, VT 05301.
A candlelight walk to the Brattleboro Police Station followed the service.
On Tuesday, March 19th, from 7pm to 9pm,
a candlelight vigil
was held on the steps of the Brattleboro Municipal Center
to commemorate the 38th birthday of Woody.
Woody's friends Mary and Zak gave speaches, with the keynote
speaker being Emma Jones.
Numerous other private and public memorial services were held
or will be held to honor Woody.
