The Horror of December 2 Recounted

A fairly clear picture of the events that unfolded in the All Souls Church on December 2nd, 2001, emerged in the hours and days that followed thanks to the willingness of several of the 18 eyewitnesses to honor Woody's request to bear witness for him. The paragraph and page narratives here remain substantially identical to the versions posted here in late December of 2001, when this website was born. Some months later, following the release of Vermont Attoney General Sorrell's obfuscatory Woodward Shooting Report, the Detailed Narrative of Events was compiled using the state police interviews of all of the eyewitnesses that then became public. Extended excerpts of this narrative were printed in the Brattleboro Reformer following the release of Justice for Woody's own report. The report also contains a condensed version of the detailed narrative.
