A Remarkable Disclosure
On December second Vermont State's Attorney Dan Davis went to the All Souls Church and determined that the investigation should be handled by the Vermont State Police. The question they were to investigate was whether these officers discharged their service pistols when they believed their safety or members of the congregation's safety was threatened. That investigation would not to be completed until April 2nd.
Then on December 3rd, one day after the shooting, the Vermont State Police issued a press release stating:
| Officers Holbrook and Parker discharged their service pistols when they believed their safety and members of the congregation's safety was threatened. |
Given that the primary entity investigating the case had already decided the key issue in the case, why wasn't Vermont spared the expense and the pretense of Sorrell's 4 month 'investigation'? And why was the public, Woody's friends, and particularly his parents, denied access to evidence with extraordinary legal shenanigans to supposedly protect the integrity of the 'investigation' when that integrity had already been forfeited on December 3rd?
